It’s almost Christmas, and we at Lone Eagle Land Brokerage live and breathe a mission to support this season of giving all year round. As we gather with our friends and family to celebrate Christmas, the feeling of plenty is hard to ignore. Plenty of food. Plenty of love. Plenty of gifts. Plenty of fresh water. Some of these things we take for granted, and it can be hard to remember that others do not share the abundant resources we can access every day. Some don’t have enough to survive.

It is for this reason that Joey Burns and the staff here get involved through Compassion International, and our mission work is especially meaningful during this time of the year. In Joey Burns’s words, the reasons for our involvement in Ecuador are simple:

Over the last 20 years we have been partnering with the Nazarene Church and Compassion International to provide hope to the children of Ecuador. Why Ecuador? Pretty simple, we see a need and the local churches have the staff and resources to consistently care for the children. We provide teams to help with construction and proved financial resources that in many cases would take locals 10 years to acquire and we get it done in 10 days. Were passionate because it is effective but more importantly, it has eternal consciousness.

And he’s not exaggerating when he says they get ten years of work done in ten days! Just watch this video from one of the organization’s latest trips. It took them ten days to complete a project that normally would have taken ten years.

Needless to say, the video is incredible. The builders are often covered in mud and dirty from a long day’s work of building, but they’re still smiling. And those smiles are reflected in the faces of those for whom the missionaries were building. Pure, rapturous joy is mirrored from smile to smile, face to face at the realization that people would come from so far away to help when they didn’t have to do so. Be prepared for images from this video to melt your heart.

For Joey Burns, these trips are almost a norm. He’s completed at least a dozen similar trips so far to support children through mission work and Jesus. Yet the work we do goes far beyond Compassion International; it has a local and global reach. Aside from mission work, Lone Eagle gives 10% of the net proceeds of every single transaction they complete to local and global evangelical missions. With all the properties they help close, this adds up to quite a bit.

So this holiday season, remember to think of others even as we gather to enjoy great gifts and food on Christmas day. And perhaps, like we will do, offer a prayer for those in need.

Merry Christmas and a happy new year, from our family to you.

Yours Truly,

The Lone Eagle Team
